Adjusting airflow direction and louvers on an LG air conditioner

Always through the remote, never by hand

The horizontal and vertical louvers are controlled exclusively from the remote — moving them by hand risks damaging their mechanism. When the unit is switched off, they close automatically to block the air outlet.

Aiming the flow vertically and horizontally

Pressing the horizontal-louver direction button cycles through the positions in order (up to 6 steps depending on the model), with an Auto Swing position at the end. Vertical louver control works the same way, with Auto Swing positions to the left, to the right, or full sweep.

A detail that explains an angle that looks off

The air conditioner remembers the last angle used for each louver. After a fresh start-up, it's therefore normal for the angle shown on the remote and the unit's actual angle to differ slightly until the relevant button is pressed again. On installations connected to a multi-outlet outdoor unit, vertical louvers can also automatically reorient themselves according to the temperature zone being treated, in cooling mode.
