Where and how to set the laptop down

Always place it on a stable, flat, hard surface before turning it on — never on your lap, a bed, a pillow, or a sofa while in use, and never with the air vents blocked, which risks overheating.

Temperature limits to respect

Outside of use, never leave the computer in an environment above 60°C or below 0°C, which can damage it. While operating, ambient temperature shouldn't exceed 35°C. Also keep it away from humidity and strong magnetic or electrical fields.

The power cord and outlet

Always plug into an easily accessible outlet, route the cord where no one is likely to step on it, never place anything on top of it, and if the supplied plug has a grounding pin, never remove it — it's a genuine safety feature. Only use the AC adapter approved by MSI, or a compatible equivalent purchased from the brand.

A serious warning about button batteries

Never ingest a button-cell battery: if swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns with a risk to life. Both new and used batteries should be kept away from children. Replace a battery only with an identical or recommended equivalent model, never reverse it, puncture it, crush it, throw it into fire, or expose it to extreme heat.

What should prompt a visit to a technician

A damaged cord or plug, liquid getting inside, exposure to moisture, abnormal operation despite following the manual's instructions, a drop with visible damage, or any sign of breakage all warrant having the device checked by a professional rather than continuing to use it. Never pour liquid into an opening, and never clean the keyboard, touchpad, or chassis with a chemical product.
