MacBook Pro safety, battery, and warranty: what to know
Magnets and medical devices, heat during use, the built-in battery, and Apple's one-year warranty: the essentials before using a MacBook Pro.

Noise — an easy risk to underestimate
Listening at high volume for long periods can damage hearing over time — a real risk with headphones plugged into a laptop, much less obvious than with a hi-fi system.
Magnets that can interfere with certain medical devices
MacBook Pro contains magnets that can interfere with implanted medical devices (pacemakers, defibrillators). Anyone affected should keep some distance between the computer and the medical device if in doubt.
Normal heat, but worth watching
A MacBook Pro can get very warm under heavy use — that's expected. It should always sit on a hard, stable, well-ventilated surface, both while in use and while charging. Avoid prolonged skin contact with the device or its power adapter while it's running, especially for anyone with reduced sensitivity to heat.
The built-in battery isn't something to repair casually
Any battery repair or replacement must follow Apple's official instructions: a non-compliant repair, or incompatible parts, risks overheating, fire, or injury. At end of life, the battery must be recycled separately from household waste, never thrown out with regular trash.
One-year limited warranty
Apple covers the included hardware and accessories against manufacturing defects for one year from purchase — excluding normal wear and accidental damage. Service is available through Apple, an Apple Store, or an authorized provider, depending on the country of purchase.
