How to fix slowness on the Motorola Edge 50
A single laggy app, the whole phone dragging, a flaky connection: the step-by-step method to try before considering a reset.

First, isolate where the slowdown is coming from
A single app that lags doesn't have the same cause as the whole phone slowing down. If it's one specific app, it's better to focus on troubleshooting that app itself (update, cache, reinstall) rather than the system. If the slowdown only shows up when viewing online content (videos, web pages), the issue is likely your connection: switch Wi-Fi networks, switch to mobile data, or the other way around, before contacting your provider.
If the whole phone is dragging
In this case, the approach is progressive — test after each step before moving to the next. Turn the phone off and back on (or force a restart by holding the Power button for 7 to 10 seconds if it's frozen). Then check whether a system update is available, and do the same for installed apps via the profile icon in the Play Store, Manage apps & device.
Storage: a common, underrated cause
Storage that's nearly full slows the system down well before it's completely saturated. Checking available space and clearing out what you no longer need is a step worth not skipping.
Resetting settings, as a last resort
If none of that is enough, resetting the device's settings clears out cached files and corrupted system settings that build up over time. Note: this also resets Battery, Display, and Storage settings — you'll need to reconfigure those afterward to your liking.
