Using hands-free voice control on a TCL Google TV
Turning on the built-in mic to say "Ok Google" without touching the remote, and what to know before enabling it on standby.

What to prepare before starting
The TV must be connected to the network and able to reach Google's site before using hands-free voice control. This feature is only available on certain models and only in Google TV mode.
Turning on the built-in microphone
Switch the built-in MIC switch to on — its exact location on the TV is shown in the quick start guide that ships with the set. In Google TV mode, press the Assistant button on the remote, then confirm by selecting "Yes, I'm in." Then say "Ok Google" or "Hey Google" to activate the assistant.
Conditions for reliable recognition
A quiet environment improves voice recognition; the recommended usage distance is around 2 meters in front of the TV. Availability of the feature depends on the configured region, country, and language.
Extending listening to standby mode
To enjoy hands-free voice control even while the TV is in standby, select the Screenless option and enable it under All settings > System > Power and energy. Keep in mind that standby power consumption increases in that case, since the built-in mic stays listening at all times. If the feature isn't going to be used for a long period, it's advisable to turn the MIC switch off.
