Fixing Bluetooth issues on the Motorola Edge 50
Bluetooth turning itself back on, a device that won't reconnect, sound or calls not coming through: the full troubleshooting method, case by case.

The basics to check first
Check the battery level of both the phone and the Bluetooth device (a low level can cause disconnections or crackling audio), stay within roughly 10 meters between the two devices, turn Bluetooth off and back on on the phone, turn the Bluetooth device off and back on to force a reconnection, and if nothing works, restart both devices.
Bluetooth keeps turning itself back on
Even when turned off, the phone can keep scanning and automatically reconnect to a device it's already paired with — turning off Bluetooth scanning fixes this case. Another common cause: a third-party app controlling an accessory (smartwatch, vehicle monitor) turns Bluetooth back on on its own. Safe mode lets you identify and then uninstall the responsible app.
Can't pair a new device
Check that both devices are in discovery mode, refresh the list via Settings > Connected devices > Pair new device, check for system updates, and for issues with a car, refer to the manufacturer's instructions. As a last resort, reset the phone's connections and then restart it.
An already-paired device won't reconnect
In Settings > Connected devices, forget the device in question, then pair it again from scratch.
Sound or calls aren't coming through
Check the volume on both sides, make sure no other paired device is capturing the audio instead, then in Settings > Connected devices, open the settings for the device in question and check that Media audio (for music) or Phone audio (for calls) is turned on.
The connection keeps dropping
Beyond the basics (battery, distance), rule out interference by keeping keys or coins away from the device, and clear the Bluetooth system cache via Settings > Apps > See all apps, then (advanced options) Show system apps > Bluetooth > Storage & cache > Clear storage.
Contacts aren't showing up on the paired device
Check that contact sharing is turned on in Settings > Connected devices by opening the settings for the device in question, then check the sharing settings on the device or associated app's side.
